Governor Willie Obiano says under his watch, workers in the state will continue to enjoy the best welfare package despite the present economic recession.
Governor Obiano was speaking at Aguleri, Anambra East local government area, during the inauguration of a storey building belonging to Rt Rev Amechi Udogu, the Anglican Bishop of Afikpo Diocese.
Governor Obiano revealed that distribution of bags of rice to the workers has commenced across the state with payment of leave allowances ongoing.He assured that December salaries of the workers will be paid before Christmas to enable them have enough money for the Christmas festivities.
The Archbishop of Enugu Province, Most Rev Emmanuel Chukwuma in a homily, urged Christians to always be committed to the things of God and be willing to make sacrifices for the growth of evangelism.
On the Anambra development, Archbishop Chukwuma pointed out that the state has maintained high tempo of social economic growth since the leadership of Governor Obiano and said what is required of Ndi Anambra is to support him to fully realize his lofty vision for the state.
