The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Mr. David Lawal Babachir has paid a two day private visit to Kebbi State to add impetus to the efforts by the state government to boost agricultural production towards food security of the nation.
The SGF in company of Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu Inspected Agriculture field in Ganten-Tudu, Ka’oje in Bagudo local government and Juroki Aljannare District in Suru Local Government.
Mr. David Babachir expressed satisfaction about the level of farm lands under cultivation of variety of crops like rice, wheat, maize, guinea corn, millet, beans, groundnut, and other crops in all the areas visited. I
He commended the state government for its support and encouragement to farmers to increase their yield and spokes about the importance of mechanized farming in line with the Policy of President Buhari Administration to making agriculture the bedrock of the national economy and revenue earner.
Mr. David Babachir advised the state government to maintain the tempo of agricultural revival, assuring that the federal government has acknowledged the leading role of Kebbi State to boost agricultural production with emphases on rice and wheat.
Among those in the company of the SGF were the National Vice Chairman of the APC, incharge of the North-West Barrister, Inuwa Abdulkadir and Dr. Nasir Argungu who conducted the SGF round farm lands those who received him during the inspection tour was the District Head of Ka’oje, Sarkin Bargu Alhaji Usman Adamu and the District Head of Aljannare Sarkin Sudan Alhaji Abubakar Saddiq Dakingari
