Orphanages across the state celebrate Kogi at 25



Kogi State is a beehive of activities as the people mark the 25th anniversary of the state.

As part of the activities, Her Excellency, wife of Kogi State Governor, Mrs. Rashida Bello accompanied by the SSG, Dr Ayoade Folashade, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Bolanle Amupitan, Director Child Development, Mrs. Adegbola and the Deputy Director Child Development, Mr. Oloruntoba, SSA Media, Hon. Olamide Adesoro, SSA Admin, Hon. Kenechi Ajayi, has been on a tour of orphanages in the three senatorial districts of the state.


According to her, orphans and vulnerable children as part of the society deserve to celebrate with the rest of the society. This informed Her Excellency’s visit to orphanage homes.

At Victory Orphanage Home in Korede Quarters, Kabba, Mrs. Rashida Bello expressed displeasure at the sorry state of the home and assured the founder/manager, Pastor Taiwo Abraham of the commitment of the state government towards caring for the less privileged and making the lives of the people of the state as a whole better.

Pastor Abraham commended Her Excellency for taking time of her tight schedule to visit them.

Mrs. Sefi Bello of Onyinoyi Orphanage home in Ajaokuta who expressed profound gratitude hoped for another visit soon.

Represented by the SSA Admin and SSA Media at One Heart One Soul Orphanage Home/Humanitarian Center, Okura and God’s Will Orphanage, Anyigba, Her Excellency registered her commitment to the welfare of the underprivileged and wished them a happy celebration.

Items donated to the homes include cash gift, bags of rice, bags of spaghetti, detergents, baby diapers, beverages, and so on.

The Director of One Heart One Soul Orphanage Home/Humanitarian Center, Rev. Father Jude Iwuh and the Proprietress of God’s Will Orphanage, Mrs. Elizabeth Okpanachi each, thanked Mrs. Rashida Bello for remembering them at this time.
