Football Legend, Pele to auction off 2,000 items of his football memorabilia


Football Legend Pele, has decided to auction off all his awards and memorabilia he achieved during his lifetime as a footballer.

More than 2,000 items will go under the hammer, covering the six decades from when Pele turned professional at the age of 15 with Santos FC in 1956 to his being named as the club's lifetime global ambassador in 2014.
The 75 year old three-time World Cup winner and Fifa Player of the Century is selling everything hhe has gotten as a gift or award from his copy of the Jules Rimet Trophy to his 1977 North American Soccer League championship ring.

Business men, soccer enthusiasts and the general public from all over the world will gather at Julien's Auctions, London and the bidding ceremony will take place over 3 days.

The Jules Rimet Trophy, the original World Cup trophy, is the most expensive lot, with an estimate value of £273,000 to £410,000.

His 3 World-Cup winning medals are expected to net up to £137,000 each, while the ball with which he scored his 1,000th goal is predicted to reach around £40,000.
