Police in Abuja has said it had arrested a male suspect who pretended to be a lunatic around the Apo bridge. Mr Wilson Inalegwu, the FCT Commissioner of Police, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on Monday in Abuja.
Inalegwu said that the suspect was apprehended on January 20 by a police patrol team on a stop-and-search duty following a tip-off.
He said that when the police operatives searched him, a locally-made pistol and a polythene bag containing wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were found with him.
He advised members of the public to always report any suspicious movement to the police. The commissioner said that the Apo Division was investigating the matter.
